Chiang Mai Enduro Trails

Description Details
Trail Name: Sawtooth Ridge
Trail Location: Doi Suthep, Chiang Mai
Trail Type: Enduro
Trail Difficulty: Hard

To: Sawtooth Ridge

This is a very difficult trail in terms of physical fitness required, set in the heart of Doi Pui national park but one that rewards you with spectacular trails, views and variety along the 60+km trail. The trail starts at the ‘Sam Yeak’ junction on Doi Pui, alternatively you can start in the Hmong village a couple of km down the road. From here you will cycle through the village and along several km of undulating single track, for those familiar with trails in Chiang Mai it follows the well known Buddha footprint trail to the highest point. This is one of several summits and as you cycle through the national park you will ascend close to 2000m before descending onto the Samoeng road.

Cycling south along the Samoeng road you will eventually turn off before you reach Patara Elephant sanctuary and cycle along gravel double track before reaching the creek – a fun albeit muddy section of the trail which follows a small stream (small depending on the season) with many crossings as it meanders down the valley. Eventually the trail will emerge South of Doi Pui in the Hang Dong area whereby you can arrange to be picked up or head to your next destination.
