Cycling Tour in Khao Sok

This popular cycling tour in Southern Thailand by Amazing Bike Tours takes guests through the provinces of Phuket, Phang Nga and Surat Thani. Guests have the option of joining and departing the tour in Khao Lak for whom the focus will be on Phang Nga and Surat Thani.

As this cycling tour heads away from the Andaman sea with the ocean views, you will experience the spectacular beauty of the mountainous area North of Phuket, home to some of the last primary forests in Thailand and a range of wildlife species including hawks, hornbills, monkeys, wild elephants and tigers to name a few. This cycling tour in Southern Thailand will also pass through rubber tree plantations, old Thai towns, rivers and waterfalls.

This cycling tour is much more than just biking, on the 2nd day we will arrive at the spectacular Cheow Lan Lake, covering an area of 165km. Here you will have time to swim, kayak, hike and take in the incredible scenery. A visit to an extensive cave network is also included in the tour and makes for an exciting adventure.

Cycling Tour Profile This cycling tour of Southern Thailand combines on and off road cycling. The first day includes off road cycling through rubber plantations which is not difficult, of road sections in Khao Sok are a little more difficult because of the inclines, however a refreshing river swim awaits to cool down guests. The on road sections are on well surfaced roads, again the sections in Khao Sok require a moderate level of fitness due to the hilly sections, however none are too steep. The bike tour is followed by a support vehicle with the exception of the off road sections, during this time constant radio contact is maintained for riders safety.

Itinerary

Day 1: Pick up guests in Phuket and Khao Lak, cycling in morning and afternoon, combination of on and off road cycling. Day 2: On road cycling in morning and afternoon, arrive and Cheow Lan Lake. Time for kayaking, swimming and sightseeing trip on lake. Day 3: Long tail boat excursion exploring the lake and it’s steep mountainous sides, trekking and a visit to a cave. Afternoon transfer back to your Phuket or Khao Lak accommodation.
