Wakeboarding in Thailand

Wakeboarding is an exhilarating water sport, which sees you ride a single board whilst being pulled by a speedboat. Born out of surfing and waterskiing, wakeboarding in Thailand has really taken off since the 1990s, and attracts a wide number of people to it, all of whom love the buzz of riding the water. The more advanced you are, the more adventurous you can become, and using a ramp in the water you can do awesome tricks and stunts. Be careful, wakeboarding soon stops becoming a hobby and becomes a way of life!

Wakeboarding in Thailand is hugely popular- tropical surroundings and warm conditions, not to mention the thousands of kilometres of beautiful beaches from which to enjoy it. There is nothing quite like skimming over the clear glassy waves and looking back to the shore of a stunning palm fringed beach. There are a number of ways to go wakeboarding in Thailand. Lake Taco, for example, is only half an hour outside Bangkok in Samut Prakam Province, and offers wakeboarding lessons using a cable system (simply being pulled by an overhead cable). Thai Wake Park is a popular place for wakeboarding in Bangkok and is where many events are held.  Most popular beaches will have wakeboarding sessions (usually from 15 minutes - 1 hour).  There are also a number of specialised wakeboarding ‘camps’, who can take you to some amazing locations around different islands.  Even in remote inland areas wakeboarding can be found - wakeboarding in Chiang Rai can be experienced at Planete Wakeboard.  Please click on the where to go links for further information.

Whether you are a complete beginner, a keen surfer wanting to try something new, or a seasoned pro looking to experience wakeboarding in phenomenal surroundings then you will find your perfect location for wakeboarding in Thailand.  Here at Action Sport Asia you will find out everything you need to know to enjoy this addictive and adrenaline fuelled sport.
