Challenge Vietnam, the 2nd edition will be held on the 13rd and 14th of July 2019. The city of Nha Trang is, once again, the chosen location offering a spectacular background for triathlon, extra race activities and plenty of places to discover, it has became the perfect opportunity to combine racing with vacation. The event, which is part of the Challenge Family triathlon series, simply 1.9 km swim, 90km bike and 21km run. Challenge Vietnam received tremendous good feedback after the 1st edition, it was awarded as “Best Inaugural Long Distance Triathlon in Asia” by AsiaTri and the triathlon community has been growing exponentially since then.
Challenge Vietnam offers it all, the exotic holiday destination, challenging course, great organization and plenty of fun pre and post-race activities. The hosting city of Nha Trang is considered “Riviera of Vietnam” and only a quick flight away from all major airports in Vietnam.
The swim session is a beginner-friendly swim since the the cut-off time is 1h 10mins and another helpful safety measure was a lane rope connecting all buoys which made it easier to swim straight, the organizers provided several jetskis and lifeguards that were stationed around the course.
The run course is highly dynamic with a mix of everything, with a steady mix of short and easy hills and a flat section in and out of one of the u-turns then back to town. A strong high-performing athlete may be able to spend the entire time on the big chain ring, while beginners may be better by shifting to a lighter gear and spin their way up.
The run course at Challenge Vietnam is mostly flat apart from a couple of short and easy hills (one being a bridge).
